OSFantasy tournament style game

OSFantasy listened to people’s desires and is pleased to bring you it’s newest game.  Think of it as an NCAA tournament for your NFL SOI’s.  32 teams, each with a starting QB, 2 WR’s, and 2 RB’s will be paired up at the start.  Head-to-Head outcomes each week are based on a traditional fantasy scoring system, with multipliers factored in depending on your players’ ownership %’s.  Win, and you move on.  Lose, and you go home.

Malkin set to launch, be ready!

fp4379pittsburgh-penguins-evgeni-malkin-postersEvagni Malkin is the next IPO in the OneSeason queue.  The current Stanley Cup Finals star from the Penguins will make just the 3rd current hockey SOI to hit the OneSeason Market.  Gretzky makes 4 hockey players in total.  There has been much debate over the last months whether or not more hockey players in OS would be good.  Some feel that OS needs to get a nice base of all the sports in order to attract or not drive away hockey fans when they find OS.  Then some, on the other hand, feel OS should completely stay out of it and let the current user base decide what sports and players should be next.  Anyways, thats another subject for another day.

The important thing is that today could very likely be Malkin IPO day!  Get your F5 hands going, your text alerts ready, and so on.  Malkin could be a very good SOI compared to the previous SOI’s.  If you take a look at CROS and ALOV they are both sitting at $7300 and $9600 respectively.  Malkin is every bit as good as CROS and should warrant a decent value.  Remember, if hockey fans come to OS they will want to buy someone.  And Malkin will be 1 of 3 current players!  So get that free cash ready to BUY BUY BUY these cheap IPO shares.

Be on the lookout.  It feels like Malkin day!

A new OneSeason game site

osfantasystitchSomeone informed me of another OneSeason fantasy game site this morning and I thought I would share it with you Traders.  The site is OSFantasy.com and it’s a performance based fantasy game.  They currently offer two tournaments called the Triple Crown Challenge and the Cy Young Challenge.  You earn points similar to Roto style fantasy baseball but this is multiplied by your # of shares as well.  So a guy hits a couple homeruns and you own 5% of him, you will get X amount of points.  I’m not getting into the details as you can find all of this out at OSFantasy.com so check it out for more details.

These games are currently free to play and they are giving away a $125 cash prize to each of the winners.  Good stuff.  OS Fantasy does require that you download the OneSeasonAlerts.com desktop tool so you can email your trade activity reports to OS Fantasy for them to be able to track your ownership percentages.

So check it out and let us know what you think.  Registration looks to be open currently.  Anyone going to give this game a try?  Hopefully it encourages some trading and gives people a reason to buy the fantasy studs.

ALOV Will be the next SOI to reverse split

Alexander Ovechkin will be and should be the next OneSeason SOI to reverse split.  The hockey superstar has over 8000 shares outstanding and his value is still a bit high.  With hockey coming to an end, it’s his turn.  We at OS Trader truly feel he will be the next up in the reverse split chain.  Yao Ming, Oden, Nash, Yao Ming again, Garnett and now ALOV!

But with OneSeason, you never know!  Stay tuned!

Seeing a Shift to NFL?

Remember back in the day when the lowest 10 SOI’s in terms of value were NFL players?  That wasn’t too long ago.  We would poke fun of all the NFL runningbacks and wide receivers because they just couldn’t hold any decent value.  Well take a look at the market value chart now… 9 out of the lowest 10 SOI values are MLB and NBA.  Only 1 NFL SOI and that is Brandon Marshall.  We are starting to see some people shift from MLB and NBA to NFL – getting all geared up for later this fall.  It’s a tough thing to buy guys out of sport, but honestly now is the time to buy them while their values are low.

So I guess I can understand why NBA guys are low.  Guys like DIRK and ODEN.  I mean they are 100% done with their season and really there is not a lot of reason to hold these guys through the off-season.  But why in the world are some of these MLB guys so low?  JHAM the lowest SOI at $3000 market value?  Are you kidding me.  BOSS (BJ Upton) at $3383 and PAPI at $3909… Ok… I’ll stop there because I can totally see why PAPI is that low.  He is garbage this year.

What’s the point of this post?  I suppose there really is no real point.  Just stating the obvious and I think it’s kind of cool how we see a shift in SOI values as we move from season to season.  If you are wanting to be involved with OneSeason during this upcoming NFL season, now might be a good time to stockpile some of those players.  When will we see Mr. Greinke?

Greg Oden following behind YAOM

So a day after Yao Ming reverse split – Greg Oden followed suit.  Last night Oden split – giving him a total of 1938 SOI’s outstanding now.  His price took another dip early this morning and he now sits at a ridiculous value of $2000… Well below the rest of the pack.  If you can get some of those shares in the low $1 range – do it.  Just my opinion.

NCAA South Ohio St Memphis Basketball

Who will be the next to reverse split?  Since we are all-knowing, we will guess BMAR is the next to reverse.  Thoughts?

Barry Sanders jumps up top, for now!

So just as quick as we got our Brandon Roy article posted, the IPO list had changed again.  AMAZING.  Barry Sanders is now the #1 player on the IPO list.  Could we see this dangerous RB tomorrow?  I think Barry will be a decent SOI and the first RB legend!  Be on the lookout for the changes and make sure you have your IPO alert credits in place for any of the next few guys!

Brandon Roy takes over #1

71797308JM_D039474020After OneSeason did a reset of the IPO list on Saturday, superstar guard for the Trailblazers, Brandon Roy, took over the #1 IPO Request spot.  Here was the top ten:

1. Brandon Roy
2. Barry Sanders
3. Ray Allen
4. Josh Hamilton
5. Evgeni Malkin
6. Walter Payton
7. Ryan Braun
8. Andrew Bynum
9. Jose Reyes
10. David Price

So go vote up who you want and lets get some fun SOI’s out here to IPO!

Witt’s Post IPO List Reset Suggestions

The IPO system will be reset on Saturday, and we will all be ready to request some new IPOs. Here are a few that I believe are a must at the top of the list.

  1. Wilt Chamberlain- This guy averaged 30 points per game and over 50 one season. That is ridiculous! That will never happen again! If he is released, there will be about 1500-2000 shares, so about 8 shares for everyone that gets in on his IPO. That is probably a $70+ IPO, so why not get him out fast so you can get him!
  2. Brandon Jacobs- If you have never seen this guy play, WOW you are missing a treat. Greatest power rusher in the game right now. He ran for 15 Tds last year AND that was with a 3-RB system, now the NYG only have 2 star RBs, and he will get more touches. During fantasy season, this is one of the top guys on the draft board. Also, he plays in a big market with New York, so you will always see support for him. Possibly, one of the top 3 RBs in the NFL today.
  3. Ken Griffey Jr.- Maybe best power hitter (non-steroids lol) to ever play the game. He will probably retire within the next 3 years, but the guy can still hit. 613 homers and over 100 RBIs in 8 seasons. Also, NEVER IPO BARRY BONDS! That would be a disgrace to Oneseason!
  4. Mark Sanchez- Risk, but could be a great QB in the NFL. It would be interesting to see how a rookie would do before season starts. The same with Jacobs, he will always have support in New York, so he will probably be a safe buy when IPO’d.
  5. Michael Crabtree- Best WR in the draft this year, and will be great in the NFL. He has the speed, hands, and the height. He reminds me of Burress (pre-gunshot lol). He went for 41 TDs in his two years at Texas Tech which is pretty amazing, but they didn’t run much. If he can stay injury-free, I can see him being top 3 WRs ever, but will he get thrown to in San Francisco (Alex Smith or Shaun Hill).
  6. Carson Palmer- When injury-free watch out! One of the best accurate QBs in the Nfl today, when he can stay healthy. In 05 and 06, he had a ratio of 60:25 TD:INT. When you look at 07 and 08, you can definitely tell he was hurt (only played 4 games last year), but with the great recievers in Cincy and the lack of a run game, he could be very good in 2009.

Just my thoughts, hopefully with this reset we can request teams!!! Those MV’s would be huge.

Ghost Orders are taken care of

OneSeason has fixed another issue that we at Trader and on OneSeason Trader radio have been asking for, for months.  GHOST ORDERS! OneSeason Blog states:

Moving forward, users will only be able to place sell orders for an equal or lesser number of SOIs than those held in their Sportfolio; this will eliminate repeat (“Ghost”) orders.

casper-friendly-ghostSo what will this change do?  It will give us a more true picture of what the current market looks like.  There will not be tons of open orders out there that aren’t real.  This is great news and needed to be done.  So a few questions I still have are.

  1. Did OneSeason remove the current ghost orders that are out there?
  2. What about buy orders?  Can you still put in buys over the amount of cash you have?

These are a few of the questions we’ll have for Mike Sroka, TOMORROW, live on OneSeason Trader radio at 9:00 PM CST.  Don’t miss this show as we have some fun things and great questions for the OneSeason CEO!
