MEGA (Calvin Johnson) made his OneSeason appearance over the weekend and he is currently trading in the $9 range.  Not bad.  The upcoming IPO list is an interesting thing.  Currently, two NBA guys sit atop the list with Roy and Allen.  But these two could continue to get leap frogged as people are requesting MLB and NFL guys.  Jose Reyes, David Price and Michael Crabtree are the 3 likely candidates.  Should be interesting to watch.

The market seems to be pretty stagnant/stable in the $600,000 range.  Give or take $20k.  I still think this is a decent spot for this time of year.  Come August/September time frame people starting doing things online again.  NFL is launching around then and people start thinking fantasy.  Load up your sportfolio now and be ready for the boom (large or small) in the fall.

So I know this is like a hodgepodge post but it’s been a few days.  I also wanted to touch base on OSTrader Radio.  It’s been a month or so since we’ve been on air and quite honestly, it’s kinda nice.  Due to the general lack of activity and seemingly low interest in radio shows these days (10 listeners or so) I think we’ll just postpone them all until either a) something huge happens or b) the fall when all of us have nothing better to do then sit online and listen to a radio show.  Will be a nice and much deserving break for the crew here at OneSeason Trader.

Lastly, if you are reading this and you follow OneSeason religiously – and you can write.  We are looking for one or two guys that can do updates around here on a periodic basis.  Just small market updates, upcoming IPO articles, prediction articles, etc…  We do have a small budget for this type of thing so if you are interested in helping and making a few bucks here or there – let me know at tips@OneSeasonTrader.com

I’m a grad student and bigtime NFL fan. I dabble on ProTrade, but liked the OS concept as the same idea but for real $. I was initially skeptical of the idea of virtual goods for real $, and I was just looking to make a quick buck like a lot of traders were. I joined OS in October after the initial spike had occured, so aside from some day trades, I stayed largely on the sidelines since the market was mostly/all red for awhile.

With the New Years recovery, I gained confidence, put in more $, got a couple IPOs, and built up my holdings. I got invested fully for the $2500 at one point but then decided to cash out the max profits I could without a W9 and just see what happens with the rest. Now, I am just trying to hit IPOs and use my account to build holdings of players I like and/or think will increase in value. My current goal is to try to make $599 per year off IPOs and trading… a bit of side income and of course enjoying the site’s evolution and entertainment value. I see OS’s main selling point as entertainment and next generation collectibles for sports fans than in terms of 3rd party fantasy sports apps. Who knows though?

Well, it is the 1st of April and OneSeasonTrader.com is alive and kickin.  OneSeason Trader has much pride looking back on the list of “firsts” we have brought to the OneSeason community:

• Last but not least, OneSeason’s first ever “April Fools” prank

So as you may have figured out by now.  The whole  “I sold the site” pitch was an innocent April Fools joke.  You are stuck with me Traders… Sorry to disappoint.  It was refreshing to take a full 24 hours away from the site though and not worry about a thing.  I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by the kind emails, Facebook messages, Twitter tweets, IM’s and even FTP poker players that found me.  It’s very encouraging as an owner of a site/community to see that the users actually care.

So Trader is not going anywhere.  In fact, we plan to continue bringing you new and exciting things alongside our market related articles and OS Trader Radio Show.  I would be a fool to rid myself of a site that has the following OST has.  I mean, seriously, what would I do without:

1. Wyzguy, Witt4Three and mna showing up every morning with a simple hello.
2. Sdog coming on once a day to say “lol” when someone is bashing OS.
3. RandyRatio and ChuckDiesel giving us their expert analysis on where the market is and where it’s going.
4. Dancenham showing up shortly after to tell Randy how stupid he is.
5. Willyp telling it how it is and telling us how badly Aced sucks!
6. Mr. Dave making me aware that we are idiots for buying so many AMRE shares back in the day!
7. Frito popping in during his nightly work routine to comment on Oklahoma.
8. Knowing their are hundreds of lurkers a day following the chat, reading the articles and just keeping up with OST
9. The rush of an IPO text coming and the daily chat going from 5 people to 25 people in a matter of minutes.  Followed by everyone comparing their timestamps to everyone else’s on the IPO Request List.
10. The small chance that Carlinio will come back to ask “What is best buy” or Ponzi and Nthomp will sneak in and cause some controversy.

Well I guess that’s enough.  This list could go on and on but you get the point.  I like this place.  I like the people that hang out here and truly enjoy the community feel we have going at OneSeasonTrader.com!  Please continue on with your daily chatting and I urge you readers to partake in some of the chatting/commenting that happens during the day.

Well, all good things have to come to end. I am sad to say that I have sold OS Trader. I never thought I would do this, but with a very lucrative offer, I could not resist. Sorry, money talks sometimes as you all know. Anyways, it has a been a great run here at Trader. All of you readers and chatters made this place what it was and I appreciate it. I am not leaving OneSeason and will still buy and sell stocks, so maybe shoot me a few messages on there or Friend me. The new owner respectfully asked that I remove everything and they plan to launch a new scaled down site in the next few days. I don’t know much about the new owner or what his plans are but I most likely won’t be hanging out around here after this week.

Here we go boys! Fantasy baseball is ready to kickoff. Wyzguy has set up a Yahoo 12 team Head to Head league. Entry is $50. But more importantly, some serious bragging rights are at stake. Forget the few hundred dollar prize pool for winning the league, it’s the 6 month off season of bragging that goes along with that infamous trophy. Draft is set for Sunday the 29th at 7pm (eastern). 10 hitting categories, and 10 pitching categories, 20 total. Each team will face an opponent of the league in a H2H dual. If your team wins i.e. 12 categories and loses 8 for that week your record will be 12-8 which will reflect the rest of the league. Each team will face off twice throughout the season with every other manager. You better believe this league will be full of trash talking all summer long. Categories include:

Hitting: H (hits), 2b, 3b, Hrs, Runs, RBI, SB, BB, K’s, Batting average

Pitching: W, L, CG’s, BB, H, WHIP, K’s, ERA, IP, and Saves

Top 6 managers will advance to the playoffs; top 2 in the regular season will receive 1st round buys.
