This article about OneSeason.com was one of the first on the web found at TechCrunch. Don’t think we ever made mention of it around here so thought we would now.
With McNabb being “benched” this past week at Baltimore – stock holders have been selling MCNB shares really low. You can find them below the $1.30 per share mark often times. Buy these up traders. Philadelphia has already announced McNabb is starting this Thursday so he should rise back to his normal value soon.
Disclaimer: I currently own 1% of MCNB. Every trade is still your own decision.

So the question came up on last nights radio show regarding reverse splits. The question was along these lines.
Is there such thing as a “double or triple” reverse split? For instance, if a stock ends at 12 cents for some odd reason – what happens the next day?
At first I didn’t know the answer. But we have now discussed this with OneSeason.com support and have a solid answer. The quick answer is – YES… It will go through a “triple reverse split”.
“It will continue reverse splitting at a ratio of 1:2 until it is back over $0.50.”
Let’s dig a little deeper. So let’s assume WADE (or any SOI) closes at 12 cents one night. WADE would go through a 1:8 split that night meaning the price would go from…
12 cents to 24 cents
24 cents to 48 cents
48 cents to 96 cents
Remember, the total SOI’s also gets affected so at the end of that day after the splits, WADE would have a price of 96 cents but just 4992 SOI’s in the market. So if you owned 100 shares WADE and this happened, you could potentially be left with 12.5 shares at the end of the night.
This sounds horrible doesn’t it? Well let’s really look at if that can even happen. Here is the quote from support in regards to this happening:
“Remember the matching system provides best execution for both buyers and sellers. So even if you put in a Sell order at $0.01 it would match to the highest outstanding Buy price and average between them. The only way for your scenario to occur is if the only outstanding Buy orders are extremely low ($0.24)…thus the low execution is reflective of current market activity…things are worth what someone else is willing to pay for them. Hope this makes sense. Please let us know if we can provide further clarity.”
So basically this is NOT going to happen. And if it did happen – it means that nobody is willing to buy that person for over 24 cents, which means he probably should go through a “Triple Reverse Split, 1:8″. Make sense? What are your thoughts about this and does anyone have follow up questions?
Trading at OneSeason.com will be closed over the Thanksgiving weekend from 11/27/08 – 11/30/08. Enjoy eating some Turkey and don’t worry about your Sportsfolio. Things will resume as normal on the Monday following Thanksgiving.
I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand it’s nice to have a little break. But on the other hand, some people who work a lot were probably looking forward to some trading on Friday and Sunday this weekend. Won’t make much of a difference in the long run but interesting decision by OneSeason.
I know one thing’s for sure. At least I won’t have the have my laptop sitting next to me, hitting F5 all day, while eating Turkey! What do you traders think about this?
